Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE)
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) is a list or dictionary that provides common names for publicly known information security vulnerabilities and exposures. CVE aspires to describe and name all publicly known facts about computer systems that could allow somebody to violate a reasonable security policy for that system. Often, these things are referred to as vulnerabilities. The broad use of "vulnerability" refers to any fact about a computer system that is a legitimate security concern, but only within some contexts. The term "exposure" allow us to refer to security-related facts that may not be considered to be vulnerabilities by everyone.
